Why Bible School?
To fulfill the great Mission & Commission given by our Lord Jesus Christ, savior of this world.
Great commission: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matt 28:19-20
"God knew that unless its being preached people will not have the privilege to hear the good news. How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher" Rom 10:14
What does the school do?
Entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. 2 Tim. 2:2
So that man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. 2. Tim. 3:16.
It delivers the evangelists, who preaches the Word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.
Winfield Skinner, one of the missionary to India had a vision to help start 6 weeks Bible training program, while he was working with Samuel Raju in India. By the grace of God, in 1996, Samuel started this school at skinner’s garden, Singampalli. After 4 years this program, the school has grown to have one-year training program. Latter for 2-year training program. In October 2003, with the initial financial help from Leggtown & Central Church of Christ, AL, school has acquired a new name and program to train 15 graduates for every 2 years. Latter the one year Foundation course in Bible & Vocational Training starting from 2005. We are hoping that, the growth of the school would reach up to our expectation in train the effective communicators of gospel.
We may not be able to present the world the exact disciples Jesus offered, but at the best of our ability we want to lead the team to build an efficient school in our region. Our mission is to train them and the vision is to see the New Testament congregations established with a self supported preacher & family. This program is giving some amazing results, the growth of the Christian character and goals of these graduates is the testimony of it.
PREACHER’S TRAINING SCHOOL (Men): We call it SGBS, Skinner’s Garden Bible School. It is a two year course for 15 students with good accommodations, a great Library facility with a Television, DVD player and many books in native language and English language. We have trained and experienced teachers as faculty. The course we are offering is BBS, that is Bacelor Degree in Biblical Studies.
BIBLE & TAILOR TRAINING SCHOOL (Women). This is a one-year course with vocational training in tailoring and typing that will help them to become self-supported. We plan to have computer courses, but we don’t have equipment at present. We are looking to the future needs of the girls at the orphanage and the young women in the church as a means of preparing them for their future marriage. This also provides a prospective wife for a preacher that desires to marry. That is why we started this program.
